Emily is an avid learner. She regularly attends conferences, meetups and industry events. She keeps up with industry standards through books, articles, blogs and online courses. Over the past year she’s received a UX Certificate from NYU, five Lynda.com certificates, intro and intermediate coding classes with Women Who Code and pitched her concept, acquired a team and presented her SHAKE app to Angel investors at the 2015 NYC Protohack.

When not behind the mic, you can find Emily in the Bush of Africa writing bios for student's with looking for school sponsors for The Thorn Tree Project or in Thailand rebuilding houses after the Tsunami of 2005 with The Phuket Project. Her favorite job of all began the day she rescued her little Shih Tzu Charlie from a cold and lonely basement in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
